| EAB: Abstract in Lingua Inglese | The miscellany contains articles written by faculty, staff and students from the Department of Geography at the University of Padua; the collective volume is in memory of the late Giovanna Brunetta (1936-1998), a former chair of the Department. After a brief survey of her career as a professor, several essays attest to the variety of research performed within the Department, both in physical and in human geography: the articles address such different disciplines as geomorphology (A. Bondesan, G. Calderoni, A. Carton, M. Meneghel, P. Mozzi), glaciology (G. Zanon), the relation between man and water (A. Fontana, F. Immordino, M. Varotto, M. Zunica), geography of population (G. Rotondi, D. Papotti), humanistic geography (F. Vallerani), geographical names (E. Vardanega), political and rural geography (M. De Marchi, F. Rigotti), the didactics of geography (M. Bertoncin, B. Castiglioni, D. Croce, P. Faggi, M.L. Gazerro, A. Pase, L. Rocca, U. Sauro, G. Zulian) and the management of a university department (C. Tonin). The book contains 18 essays supplemented with illustrations and tables. |
